Essex Police issues e-fit of man who tried to steal woman’s suitcase in Thorpe Bay

POLICE have issued an e-fit image of a man who tried to steal a woman’s suitcase in Thorpe Bay.

The woman, in her 30s, was walking along Bishopsteignton, near its junction with Maplin Way, pulling a small, black suitcase. She had just got off a train at Thorpe Bay station.

She was overtaken on the pavement by a man, who grabbed her and tried to steal her suitcase.

However, he dropped the case and then ran off towards Maplin Way.

The incident occurred at roughly 7pm on Tuesday, January 31.

Essex Police urged anyone who recognised the man or had information about the incident to contact PC Rachel Martin at Southend CID by dialling 101.
